Judge's Report
Australian National Pigeon Show Sydney 2000
From Bob Nolan USA
Plain Head Helmets this was my most difficult judging assignments of the show. Your birds are considerably different and more plentiful than found in America generally speaking they are larger and show more C.L. Tumbler style heads, the champion, a black was one of many fine birds deserving of such an award. The best young and andalusian cock displayed plenty of frontal and head power, you are seeking in the breed. Another bird was load's of head power was a lovely yellow old cock.
Crested Helmets this variety I currently raise, (on a small scale) and found more familiarity with than the plain heads here. I found the reds to be the most highly developed in the skull and crest. Station for the most powerful part was quite good. The champion was a red old hen with one of the best crests, and rosettes in the show, a real type, and stylish birds. The best opposite sex was a powerful old cock but not as well developed in the crest and mane as the old hen. The best young also came out of the red class.
